Edible packaging has to follow extra rules because it’s food.
First, it must use food-grade materials that won’t leak chemicals into the product.
Second, it needs clear serving sizes (most states limit a single serving to 10mg of THC) so people can dose safely.
Like flower packaging, edibles often come in resealable containers to keep them fresh, but they also need strong CR features to prevent kids from getting into them.
The design is tricky too—packages can’t have bright colors or cartoon characters that appeal to children.
Instead, they use simple, adult-friendly designs that still show off the product, often with a small transparent window.
